In the way of current events...

Anyone who has prepped for history tests lately knows that there are things that seem more like current events on them, say... President Obama.  Truth is, what we look at as current events is already making its way into the books.
In that vein of thought, here is a thought provoking web site

You'll be surprised just by entering what you make from your part time job, or maybe even your allowance, where you stack up in the world's line-up of wealth.  As you study other countries (past and present) keep this in mind, it may just cause an "aha" moment.

Under Construction

I know right now the site is pretty disjointed and there isn't much here, but keep checking back, I've got lots of great content that will be coming soon!

Almost There...

To the end of the school year that is!  All you AP students are breathing again since most, if not all, of your exams are over.  So now you get to kick back and let brain drain set in for the next 3 months right.... Not if you want to want to make life a little easier next year!

The truth is that if you are signed up for AP classes next year and your teacher has not given you a summer packet you should be looking elsewhere for one.  If you don't already know AP classes are INTENSE and you would be doing yourself a huge favor if you get a head start right now.  It might make the difference between having to get a tutor during the school year, and being able to handle it on your own.  (No shame on either course!)

In addition to keeping Brain Drain at bay you should also being doing some homework on your AP

teacher(s).  Ask their former students what their teaching style is like, if they assign special assignments that you can get a jump on, and most importantly: find out how their former students do on the exam.  The truth is not all AP teachers are created equally.  Unfortunately some teachers don't prepare their students very well for the exam.  If you find that this is the case with the teacher you are scheduled with for next year, see if you can switch to a different teacher/class, or in extreme cases if you can take the class at a neighboring school.  If you can't switch, then you need to be extra dilligent about preparing yourself.  In this case you really may want to look at getting a tutor.

And last but not least.  Are you taking any tests this summer or fall?  SAT or SAT subject tests, ACT, TOEFL?  Don't just sit there, get a book and do some prep work!!

The good news is you can do this at any hour you want, and in the sunshine, enjoy the summer!!
